Most cut-on-contact broadheads fail to deliver true penetration advantages because of a hidden flaw no one is talking about.

That fatal flaw is “Ferrule drag”
and once you see it, you can’t unsee it:
Traditional cut-on-contact designs rely on a large, bulbous ferrule-to-blade junction to maintain structural integrity on impact. It works for durability. But it comes at a cost.
That geometry creates massive friction as the ferrule is forced through tissue—and even worse—through bone.
So yes, the blade makes initial contact.
But milliseconds later, the ferrule becomes the limiting factor.
